Helping businesses connect and build lasting relationships with customers.
What makes a customer choose one business over another? It could be anything from the services offered to how close they are. Or how fast they respond to a call or text. While not every factor can be controlled by a business, what they can control is how quickly they’re able to connect with customers and how strongly they’re able to build relationships with them.
That’s why OpenPhone is reimagining the front office for the modern era. Helping teams scale with empathy, build trust, and create lasting relationships. We’re not just building a phone system. we’re setting a new standard for how businesses connect with their customers.
Did you know that 99.9% of all businesses in the United States are small businesses?
“Small” can mean a lot of things. It can mean a dog groomer putting in 12 hour days to establish themselves and keep their customers coming back. It can mean a small chain of plumbers fixing leaks across the entire tri-county area. It can mean that lawyer with the funny billboards at every exit off the interstate in your town. It can even mean that tech startup that’s pushing the boundaries of technology to help their customers do bigger and better things.
OpenPhone is changing that. We’re giving small businesses the tools they need to grow, compete, and thrive. We’re not just here to build a better phone system. We’re here to help the economy become more fair, resilient, and human. To power a modern economic renaissance together.
OpenPhone was founded in 2018 by Mahyar Raissi and Daryna Kulya to solve a problem they saw firsthand: business owners relying on their personal numbers to run their companies. While building tools for trade contractors, Mahyar noticed that those who communicated better earned more — yet they lacked a professional, modern phone system.
That insight led to the first version of OpenPhone: a simple, smart business phone designed for the way people work today. With roots in small business families and a mission to help companies grow through better communication, Daryna and Mahyar took OpenPhone through Y Combinator — and have been scaling it ever since.
OpenPhone wouldn’t be where we are today without the many customers who’ve trusted us and grown with us over the years.
