OpenPhone vs Aircall

Aircall is built to manage large contact centers with an international presence. OpenPhone is designed for growing teams to collaborate and nurture customer relationships.

Why Aircall customers move to OpenPhone

Hundreds of teams have moved from Aircall to OpenPhone. Here are a few reasons why:

"OpenPhone has transformed how our team collaborates, with intuitive features that make it incredibly easy to transfer calls, monitor teammate activity, and add detailed notes to every interaction. We can effortlessly scale by adding new numbers as we expand into different territories. It's a solution that lets us provide seamless customer service at a fair price!"

"OpenPhone has significantly reduced our communication costs compared to Aircall – by a factor of 2-3x.  Beyond the savings, the platform's functionality and consistent improvements have made it the ideal solution for Rove Travel. We've evaluated Aircall, DialPad, and other leading options, but OpenPhone stands out."

It's so easy to track what has been said between our customer service department and customers. We can also mark conversation and call in Done which helps us track what has been done."

Why businesses switch from Aircall to OpenPhone

A purple screen with a phone call and a message.

The small business-friendly phone

  • No user minimums in any plan

OpenPhone can power your business communications, even if you’re just getting started as a solopreneur. We don’t have a minimum number of users to use our platform.

Aircall requires a three-user minimum in its plans, which makes it more expensive for small teams.

  • AI features without add-ons

Get access to our AI features — AI call summaries and transcriptions and AI suggested contacts — with our Business plan.

Want call summaries with Aircall? You still need to get the Aircall AI add-on on top of an Aircall plan.

Collaborate and text as a team

  • Essential texting features for your team

Get access to texting features like SMS auto-replies, scheduled messages, and snippets (pre-written text templates) with OpenPhone.

Aircall only offers basic SMS and MMS messaging. You’ll need to add a third-party app or use the Aircall API to get access to these features, which both add to your costs.

  • Collaboration features that help you move faster

Work better together with OpenPhone’s collaboration features.

Internal threads enables teams to troubleshoot issues and respond to customer questions as a group. And with inbox viewers, you don’t need to follow up on whether your colleagues have seen a specific conversation.

Aircall doesn’t offer internal threads or inbox viewers — you’ll need to coordinate customer replies and troubleshoot issues outside their apps.

Call and text worry-free on every plan

  • No toll-free call charges

With OpenPhone, you can make and receive as many toll-free calls as you want.

Aircall charges you for both inbound and outbound toll-free calls, which drives up your call costs. You also can’t find toll-free call pricing on their website, so you won’t know the final cost until after you sign up.

  • No toll-free texting

Want to message a toll-free number? OpenPhone lets you text toll-free numbers with no messaging limits.

Aircall doesn’t let you text toll-free numbers.
